How do we research and verify what's on this site?

Accuracy over completeness. We never invent a number or fill a gap with something plausible; "unconfirmed" is a good answer, and you'll see it on this site.
How do we label facts?
Every value on this site carries one of three labels: verified(we read it ourselves on a primary source: the organization's own site or documents, the California Department of Education, statute, or an authorizer's staff reports and audits), secondary (a directory, news, or review site, always named), orunconfirmed.
How do dates work?
Anything that can change (prices, funding, enrollment windows, deadlines, test scores, charter terms) carries an as-of date next to the fact itself, not buried in a footer.
What sources do we avoid treating as verified?
Homeschool directory and aggregator sites often carry wrong funding or price figures. We never mark those verified, even when they're the only source we can find; we label them secondary and say so.
What do we do with conflicting sources?
We record both, with sources for each. We never pick one silently.
What won't you find on this site?
No private Facebook groups or members-only forum content. No rankings, tiers, or "best/top/avoid" language: facts and sourced red flags only, plus questions to ask each school yourself. No private individuals' names or addresses.
