What stands out
- Curriculum mirrors standard LAUSD coursework, including all courses required for graduation and college admission; this is district-directed curriculum, not a charter-style funds allotment for outside vendors/curriculum of the family's choosing. (source)
- WASC-accredited and NCAA-certified for student athletes needing eligibility while doing independent study. (source)
- Enrollment requires proof of address, birth certificate, immunization records, parent ID, and current transcripts if transferring from a non-LAUSD school; in other words, families must reside in or be eligible to enroll in LAUSD boundaries. (source)
Questions to ask
- Can our family choose our own curriculum/materials, or must we follow the LAUSD-assigned coursework?
- Which of the ~30 City of Angels resource sites is closest to our South Bay neighborhood?
- What is the current weekly meeting format (in person, phone, video)?
